Born: September 12, 1927 on the family farm in Waukon Township, rural Gary Minnesota

Parents: Adolph and Gina (Ramberg) Halland

Siblings: Brothers: Stanley, Millard, Lloyd, Lester, Philip, Dennis Sisters: Berniece McCollum, Doris Jaeger

Education: Country School in Waukon Township, Graduating from Gary High School in 1946.

Spouse and Family: Married Burton Thronson, May 13, 1950, moving to Burton's Family farm near Gary.

Children: Shirley (Bud Jenson), Barbara (Gary) Kjono, Lynette Prestegaard, David (Rita), Byron (Lori), Bradley (Elena), Dalen (Bindy), Kimberly (Arne) Jenson. Ardelle has 7 children, 23 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Employment: She really has done it all! She has been a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, cook, seamstress, farm wife, milker of cows, tractor driver, teacher, quilter, baker (breads, cookies, lefse, pies), cook, babysitter, referee, caregiver and too many other to mention, (this was inside the home.) Outside the home she worked several jobs in her teens, and her later life, baked and cooked at the Gary Public schools for a number of years.

Home Church: Ardelle is a member of Ness Lutheran Church, St Petri Lutheran Church, both rural Gary and at present a member of Gary Lutheran.

Hobbies: Quilting, sewing, watching children, baking, cooking.

Places she has visited: Traveled with her family to North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, California, Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Washington DC to name a few places.
